Davis Bertans 2019-2020 Outlook

Recommended Posts

He's merely a 3 point specialist while sprinkling in a few rebounds. 14 to 16 team league kind of player.

You think? Coach said he really likes him and roto news (obviously not reliable) are reporting he could be starting

Probably one of the best shooters in the league, but can he become a reliable high volume shooter? If yes, he might turn into Mirotic 2.0

You and me could probably start on that roster lol.

I'm just going by his time with the Spurs. But if he fits your need(s), go for it.

My best guess is that it's unlikely Bertans will he'll usurp Hachimura. Hachimura has been playing solidly since Summer League, he's polished and developed for a rookie, and of course he has a higher ceiling than Bertans. He's learning fast too. And there's probably a strong emphasis on player development. If today's game is any indication, they look at him as the 2nd or 3rd scoring option.

I think Hachimura could be yanked at times for rookie mistakes, but signs point to him at least starting the ROS unless he strings together too many mistakes and poor showings.

He can shoot the long ball, lol what is this game tho absolutely no defense, both teams going for 150

yeah exactly, which is why i won't get too excited. I mean he can give you 3s that's for sure

An important number is 28.8 mins. Rui may be the more intriguing prospect, but the team's lack of scoring options means a marksman like Bertans (who ain't exactly a vet either) could get strong usage off the bench.

Yet it's hard to trust someone who only managed 13.4 points per 36 mins last year despite the insane efficiency. Seems like a potential Otto Porter situation without defensive stats.

I feel Pop has his favourites, and it doesn't seem like Bertans was one of them. He was somewhat buried on the depth chart in SA and it seems hard to earn Pop's trust.

Bertans is basically free right now, and despite his lack of defensive stats, the FG+FT+3PM+TO+PTS combo off the waiver is valuable for certain builds or deep leagues. Just wish we got a few more rebounds from PF. His shooting should come down, so if he gets more than 14-3 with 2 threes and .430/.820 he's staying on my team, though he is my first drop candidate if someone like Aron Baynes comes out of nowhere.

Complete garbage over the last 6 games. Time to move on?

I'm holding for a few more games at least. When your value is tied to threes and you're not making them it is going to hurt. But important to note the minutes are still there, the role in the offense is stil there and he has a history of shooting well. Still think he can have a Joe Harris lite type season with fringe top 100 value.

I don't understand how this man is 50%+ owned in Yahoo. Sure he's a big that hits some 3's but 50%+ is puzzling.

M?

6x man of the year

He's sneaky good in the same way Joe Harris was last season. Should flirt with fringe top 100 value ROS.

I think he has upside. The team knows he is their best shooter and will use him more. He also produces in rebound and some defensive stats, FT and low TO

He's also been picking up some dimes lately as well. 2.8 AST in last 4 games. Decent for a big.
