what was everyone else thinking?  if everyone thought it was AVG then lets just do AVG.  please respond so we know

Honestly, I was just assuming AVG. I'm okay either way though.

ok, so unless we get like 5 people saying OPS....lets just continue drafting as AVG. its still early so shouldnt be a problem even if 1 or 2 people made 1 pick based on OPS

Meh’s observations thru the first 3 rounds:

1. There isn’t a clear best spot to draft from, imo. Obviously a top 3 pick would be nice but there are lots of other good spots. I liked drafting 6th overall b/c I feel there is a tier with the top 3 players and then a 2nd tier with Betts, Bellinger, and Cole. For me there is another drop off after the top 19 picks so you’re guaranteed to get one of those guys in the 2nd. I have 15 players with a first round grade, so even drafting 10th, 11th, or 12th guarantees two of those players.

2. People are undervaluing Jose Ramirez. He was the consensus 3rd overall pick last year. I’m of the belief he was able to correct his early season flaws and has the potential to finish in the top 3 overall in 2020.

3. Boegarts is also being undervalued. He finished as a top 25 player last year, is entering his age 27 season, and has an elite lineup around him. He might be one of the most underrated players in baseball which is hard to believe given the market he plays in.

4. I think Pete Alonso is going to really disappoint people this year. I see regression in his HR/FB rate and his batting average floor is really scary.

Agree with all of this, I passed on Xander twice when considering him in the 2-3 spots - and honestly I dont have a great explanation - because everything you say is true.  It was a great value pick, one that honestly in a league if that team goes on to win you point back and say HTF did Xander go at the end of the 3rd?

My main league is avg and that is what my rankings on my spread is based on, I dont really care its a mock and I am just working off of them, its more the power low avg high OBP guys that tend to swing in value.

If it was average, I might have taken a pitcher in rounds 3 or 4...or Albies in round 3, but ultimately it’s a mock and I don’t care.

I have no preference AVG or other. I was drafting based on the league settings, but it didn't change any of my picks... it changes the later picks more on guys that are big OBP and low AVG

Good pick at this point in the draft.  Just needs to stay on the field.

Yeah, I was close to taking him when I took Machado/Mondesi, but with Trout and Harper, its not like I needed another OF and needed to start to fill out the rest of the roster, but I think he is a good value.

Anyone see the slimmed down Vlad Jr lately? Could be the steal of the draft.

I would take him over any of the guys picked in round 5 other than maybe Mondessi!
