Fantasy MVP 2019

Recommended Posts

CMC, NE Def, Lamar Jax

But gotta be Lamar Jackson. CMC was a top 5 pick at worst. Lamar leads the league in scoring and drafted waaaay later if drafted at all. He's a league winner like Mahomes was last year.

Wilson and Dak were drafted late and have been great too. QB is always deep so its hard to say that a QB is fantasy MVP. CMC is in a tier by himself.

My issue with crowning a guy like CMC is that in snake drafts, I took him with a top-3 pick in every mock last summer. Always liked him better than Saquon or Kamara. Then I drew a 9 on draft night.

Cook was the guy everyone slept on. He fell to the late first / early second and that means everyone had a crack at him.

Don't have CMC or Cook

but in both leagues that I'm in the owners look to be playoff bound

Depends on where you got a player. I'd say Lamar, Russel, Godwin, and maybe Jacobs.

Godwins faded lately

IMO, MVP is a combination of performance and draft capital:

1) Lamar Jackson

2) CMC

3) Dalvin Cook

4) Michael Thomas

5) DJ Chark

Honorable Mention:

NE DST, Josh Jacobs, Austin Hooper, Austin Ekeler, Dak Prescott, opponents of Miami/Cincinnati

probably missing at least 2 but this is off the top of my head.

In one of my two leagues,

I drafted:

1st: CMC

2nd: Kittle

3rd: Fournette

4th: Godwin

... And I got Lamar Jackson in the 9th.

Lamar is the reason why I’m 9-2.

Lamar Jackson is the MVP.

Lamar, and it's really not even close.

he has a legit shot to eclipse 'Homies overall score from last season ... let that sink in.

the kid has put up, making detractors (like ME!🙋‍♂️) shut up ... until it comes time to give the kid the very well deserved props he merits - ergo, i speak glowingly on his behalf.

i've never seen anything like it - folks can talk Cam/Vick/Cunningham/RGIII comparisions all they want, but, fact is, we have the next Steve Young here - Jackson's passing is improving as such that comparing to a HoF cat like Young is more than legit - Steve may never have piled up the yardage on the ground like Lamar, but in terms of dominating games from an astronomically yuuuuuge talent disparity level, well, here we are - and the juxtaposition clicks.

that's the way i see it.

simply mind blowing, and easily the magick foosball EM VEE PEEEE.

have at yer trophy, kid 🏆

Derrick Henry

Leading rusher in the NFL since week 13 of 2018.

This is where stuff gets interesting irl. As great as his season has been, how valuable to his team is he? Irl theyre 5-5, so does his contribution really matter?

For fantasy who cares abiut teams i know. I was just rambling about reality.

I don’t blame anyone from picking CMC but I think that draft price should be taken into account as well. Remember James Conner and Mahomes were both HUGE league winners last year because of performance vs their price. To me the candidates are:

Russell Wilson - went round 10 in my main league.

Lamar Jackson - went round 11 in my main league.

DJ Chark - Undrafted

Patriots D/ST - last round (15).

I give the overall edge to Jackson in the end. He is the perfect example of why you wait on a QB and build your teams RB and WR stables instead.

My teams personal MVP is Chark as I got a number 1 WR for free essentially.

I'm in three leagues, and the CMC owners are 1, 2 and 3. So, yeah.

That's an interesting take. I'm in two leagues, and the only player that both league leaders own is...Travis Kelce.

CMc owners are #2 (out of 10, snake draft) and #3 (out of 16, auction). Lamar owners are #1 (out of 10 - me!) and #11 (out of 16 - got traded to him on Sep 18th). Dalvin Cook owners are #6 and #2 (also me).

I think you don't get cute and talk about draft position. The MVP is CMc.

Idk, think about where the Titans would be with Dion Lewis as their feature back.  He avg 3.3 ypc in 2018 and 3.6 so far in 2019.

Titans are 5-5 but their most important games are ahead of them. They play Houston twice, divisional games and they play Jax again.

These are the months where Henry starts to heat up too.

Just putting it out there

QB: Jackson

RB: CMac

RB: Cook

WR: Thomas

WR: Godwin

WR: Chark

FLEX: Ekeler

TE: Waller

D/ST: New England

K: Younghoe

Crazy thing is, with the exception of Thomas, you could have actually drafted this team.

Per Yahoo Fantasy:

These are the players who appear most often in the top 500 Public League teams.

Christian McCaffrey - 80%

Dalvin Cook - 41.2%

Mike Evans - 37.6%

Austin Ekeler - 35.4%

New England D/ST - 35%

Chris Godwin - 28.8%

Lamar Jackson - 28.6%

Without the numbers, I'd say it is neck and neck between McCaffrey and Jackson though.
