Combo of that and 3B being so deep has people waiting on Arenado is my thought. Plus with this being 5 OF I think that had some people taking top OF options earlier.

I get that. I would not have taken JoRam over Arenado though. As a JoRam owner last year it was not a fun ride for most of the year. He was wildly streaky and inconsistent. Arenado is the much safer option imo and I would take him over JoRam without a second thought

I went Tatis over him.  Honestly, if it was a high buy in league, I probably would have taken Nolan.

I like kicking up some steals early though, so I don't have to waste picks on guys like Dee Gordon later.

steals are even harder to come by in OPS league

I went JoRam to get the Guy that will contribute SB’s without crushing the other stars in the process.

I get the argument for Tatis and JoRam over Arenado because power becoming easier to find and SB’s becoming harder to find but I’d still take Arenado over both because:

Tatis’ limited track record

JoRam being just outright bad for long stretches last year

I agree both have a higher ceiling but I just prefer Arenado’s safety pending we don’t hear more concrete trade discussions.

i also go for safety in the first 2 rounds usually.  so i agree.  but i do like the SB argument. especially in OPS.  u dont want to kill your OPS with a guy like Gordon, Mondesi (maybe) or malex smith

I don't disagree with that strategy.  But man, it's strange to be almost in the 6th and see a good 6 or 7 3B projected to hit around 30 bombs and drive in around 90.

I missed him by a couple picks in my OPS league last year.  Will be targeting him earlier this year.

I was looking at 5x5(batting average) rankings/expert drafts etc..., so between that and Gallo not being near the top of the draft list or in my queue I missed him but if I could go back I would have selected him over Machado.

Gallo is a fantastic pick, I would have loved to have taken him but I have the turn-around pick position in the draft and would have had to reach for him at the end of the 3rd round.
