I think he’ll land the everyday centerfielder job, but Almora is having a good spring as well so it’s still complicated. He’ll also likely start the year hitting at the bottom of the order as it sounds like they’ll open with Bryant in leadoff followed by Rizzo, Baez et al.

2ndCitySox 4,450
Why is he leading off? Seems like a weird spot for the best hitter on your team. Rizzo, while not a typical lead-off man, has a crazy good walk rate.

Heyward is currently the second best hitter on the team and he’s been awful when leading off. Rizzo is best at 2 or 3.

I think it just shows that a lot of people aren't putting much stock into what's happening this year. I know I'm not...good, bad, or somewhere in between. I'm excited to be a Happ owner for at least the next three years in one league, but I also understand that this has been one weird season with different players responding in different ways. Hopefully, he can carry this over into 2021, though.
papasmurf 999
He was good when he came back. He was fantastic from day 1 in the spring. Count me in the believer camp. I guess I just jinxed him with the good ol' smurfin' jinx.

I agree with not overrating a 60 game sample, but if a player performs well and has the pedigree you have to take note.

And he was good last year too. People say there's no sleepers nowadays but people really slept on Happ this year. Everything he's doing is showing he's legit. This isn't just a hot streak.
OaksterDan 212
He has a contusion above his right eye after a foul ball ricocheted off the ground into his face yesterday. Yahoo shows him as DTD - I wonder if the Cubs will give him a night off tonight vs Jack Flaherty.

He now has almost 1200 at-bats on a 30 hr/10 steal/350 obp/500 slg pace. So that is the bare minimum projection going forward. Even if you assume a bunch of this year is sample-size related you still I think are building up from that base number and that's a pretty valuable OF

I'd obviously be thrilled if he was back for tomorrow's doubleheader, but we'll see.

Bash Bros 741
This guy is going to be a 3rd round pick next year. It's more than just a hot streak in a severely shortened season. He's been raking ever since he was recalled last year.
