Most of the time, in bigger leagues anyway, you play Parker against all odds ( New QB/Shutdown corner/Aaron Donald/Groin). You trust that those writers at Yahoo or ESPN actually watch all the games and are paying attention? Because i definitely don't.
harck 478
If the Bears game is any indication, Ramsey probably won't shadow anyone (he didn't shadow Robinson). Rams are confident in their overall secondary. I still wouldn't fire him up with confidence if you have another choice though, considering the volatility of a rookie QB combined with a strong Rams pass defense. zole2112 3
I'm sitting Parker this week, rolling with A Cooper. Sitting Parker for his injury and first start for TT, who is also on my bench in anticipation.
SharkSwimmer 4,808
Parker has traditionally played poorly at less than 100%. And he was limited today and Wednesday at practice with a groin injury. All signs point to benching Parker. Now watch him go bonkers and be Tua's new fave...

I'll take it if he's on my bench and Tua goes full Broke Back Mountain with the guy, so long as it's not just a one night stand 😏

The G Man 980
Here's the thing I keep coming back to re; Tua. His accuracy is supposed to be pin-point. If true, if he can really hit the tight windows, then that will obviously benefit all of the Phins receivers. That said, his first game against a tough Rams pass rush, and with Parker at less than 100% definitely makes it a little dicey. But, they've had two weeks to get healthy and prepare for this game. Ultimately, it all comes down to the Oline. If Miami's Oline can give Tua time, I believe he will have success. And, by extension I think Parker has a good day. JMHO. Not to sound pessimistic but this is a pretty horrendous matchup. Rams are not exactly slouches on the back end. I don’t think the Dolphins are going to get blown out by any stretch but I envision an ugly game.

One of the best pass rushing teams in the NFL against a rookie QB, and then combine that with one of the best secondaries in the NFL to boot. This will be the ultimate test for Tua, thrown into the fire first week in. Rams D is really only vulnerable to the run. I must say I am a bit more worried about this groin injury than the others. He dropped the hamstring and ankle designation pretty quick in follow up week practices, but the fact that this lingered through the BYE... makes me think it's on the moderate+ side and could linger all season. Then again Keenan Allen came out of his BYE with an injury tag as well and balled out like nothing was ever wrong. Edited October 30, 2020 by harck

The Bills who have a shutdown corner themselves shadowed Preston Williams with T White. Not sure if that was because they viewed him as more dangerous or if it was that he would lock Preston down thus you could have help for Parker often.

This is 100% true, I faded AROB on showdown slates because of Ramsey and he never traveled with him.
King Gonzo 147
Didnt watch the game, but the box score certainly was not encouraging. Guess we will see how next week goes.
Islanderman 251
Parkers outlook just went south. The switch just killed his season.

Did you watch the game? A defensive TD for miami, a punt return for a TD a turnover near the goal line for an easy TD. There was no real need for Tua to air it out this game. Had Fitz played this game with the same defensive and special team effort then Parker's line would have been the same, IMO.
Gmen07 170
It’s crazy how many games this year the Dolphins have been ahead and stopped throwing. It’s been rough starting their pass catchers for the most part.
harck 478
Can't judge Parker's outlook based on this game. The defense/special-teams produced 3 TDs. Any team shuts down the pass game at that point to kill clock. I'm definitely not *optimistic* coming out of this game, but it's a bad judge of rest of season.
mjb 808
2 Targets, It appears Tua played very conservatively. 12-22, 6 targets to the running back.. Not fantasy friendly first start. But D/ST came up big, which might have changed things a ton. Hoping he's flex worthy ROS.
Breesus 482
They play @ Arizona next week. We will learn a lot more from that game than this, as mentioned above Dolphins games have been very weird this month, that defense is becoming quite ferocious.
Gohawks 9,940
Who the hell would’ve thought the Dolphins would look like the 2015 Broncos in terms of game script. This game had a score of 28-7 and Miami had 60 total yards. The Dolphins had a 95%+ at that point and it never went under 95%. Realistically, I don’t think it’s possible to have a worse game script. Out gained by 300 yards and winning by double digits is just insane.

It should be a high scoring game though and he’s produced against top CB’s before. I just want to see if Tua will at least look his way next game, even if he doesn’t have a good fantasy day just seeing the targets would be nice. But he's barely above replacement level right now, and I think dropping him is the way to go to hunt for more upside on the wire. Miami's defense is good and the dolphins do not want to get in shootouts I think.

We've all been disappointed but Parker has been fighting thru injuries and Tua will only get better going forward. Parker's upside is incredible. We saw last year Parker carry teams to championships. Now I'm not saying to expect that or count on that but I do expect him to score more points per game in the 2nd half just like last year.
