Jack Daniels?

Yeah I am more of a Bourbon guy, but brown booze is in order. This year will really be nuts with SPs...

Make sure James is owned but Forest is prob on the come real soon too. Not the depth in this system there once was.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Javier as the first man up and get a shot. Or as a bulk guy at a minimum. We’ll see.

Outside of Houston pitchers and in general, Phillies young phenom Spencer Howard will be recalled and start his major league career on Friday against the Jays.  May be other service time is over call-ups as well.

Which also means Astro's Whitley could be up if only to fill out in the bullpen soon as well if Verlander's injury turns out season ending.

Any update at all about Verlander?  I thought he was supposed to be re-evaluated after 2 weeks.  With the short season, if he's not able to start throwing soon, it's unlikely he's going to be able to make much, if any, of an impact fantasy-wise in September.  Considering ADP, Verlander is looking like the clear bust of the year.  Having an early-round pick get injured for the entire year hurts a heck of a lot worse than having an early round pick underachieve and perform at a mid-round level, especially in deep leagues where the drop-off is so large to the best players available on the waiver wire.

Astros manager Dusty Baker told reporters that Justin Verlander (forearm) is "not progressing as quickly as he'd like."

Verlander was placed on the injured list with a right forearm strain after his first start of the season. While it was initially reported that the reigning Cy Young Award winner would be out for the year, Verlander quickly dismissed those reports with hopes that he could return in September for the playoff-contending Astros. It appears that the rehab is not going as well as anticipated, and what was already a long shot now appears to be even less likely now. It would be a major upset if we see Verlander throw another pitch in 2020.

Drop city after the news.  Considering ADP, it's hard to be a bigger bust fantasy-wise than Verlander will be this year.  What makes it even more frustrating is that Verlander had almost no injury history prior to this year.

It drives me crazy when people say that injured players aren't fantasy busts.  Having an early-round pick get injured for the entire year hurts a heck of a lot worse than having an early round pick underachieve and perform at a mid-round level, especially in deep leagues where the drop-off is so large to the best players available on the waiver wire.  For example, as bad as Aaron Nola was last year for a 3rd round pick (and he was about as poor as I can remember a healthy early-round pitcher performing), he was still better than what would have been available on the waiver wire to replace him.

Verlander is 35+ years old or something with tons of mileage on his arm. If you baked that into his projections he should have fallen several rounds.
