Syndergaard, Lynn for Snell?

Recommended Posts

Would you trade Syndergaard, Lynn and a mid round pick to acquire Snell?

This is pre-draft and I don't plan or have room to keep Lynn.

My other pitcher keepers are Paddack and Darvish.

Honestly No. He had 1 really good year and that was it. Go Thor!

That really good year was 2018

  1. Yes, I would do the trade.  If its not dynasty and you cant keep both Thor and Lynn, Snell is a good upgrade over Syndergaard IMO.  Thor is more name than production, and Snell wont be had this cheap if he can prove his health.  There is some risk in Snell, but when isn't there risk in Syndergaard?  The upside of Snell makes it worth it to me

If you dont decide to do the trade, personally I would keep Lynn over Darvish.  Lynn's breakout was for real and I dont trust Yu.  No one wanted him before the 2019, and was cut in a lot of leagues.  Now all of a sudden he is back to top 20-ish SP?  Im not buying it.  Lynn is much safer IMO

Isn't there an equal upside to Thor?

Thor didn't seem to have the same dominant stuff last year (only 202 K in 198 IP, a far cry from his strikeout rate in 2015 and 2016).  Plus Thor's injury history is impossible to ignore.  I'd definitely rather have Snell than Thor.   Snell still had 147 Ks in 107 IP last year, and was really unlucky to have a 4.29 ERA.
