Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Is this a new league or one that has already been running. If it is the latter, am I taking over someone's keepers?

I am starting a 10 Team, ESPN H2H points league (no keepers), $25 buy in (league safe). Draft will be mid/late March, regular season will end mid August so the playoffs will be over by time NFL starts. My email address is timothy.rutkowski@gmail.com if you’re interested.

16 team Baseball Fantasy H2H Points Keeper League has a team available as we begin our 9th season in 2020.

The league is called Can of Corn and is a CBS Commissioner League.  $110 Annual League Fee. We include limited keepers as well as minor league development slots. (Details below in League Constitution)

All pay-ins / pay-outs are done through PayPal.

The team available picks 4th in each round of the upcoming draft.  The team has excellent keeper choices (Springer 7th Round, Devers 11th) and a full complement of prospects in Minors status.  This team is likely to compete immediately with even a mediocre draft.

Keeper deadline is March 6, Draft March 21.

Email me at jimchait@gmail.com if interested.  You can be added as owner to look at the team and within the league to help you make your decision.  Ask me any questions you may have.

16 team Baseball Fantasy H2H Points Keeper League has two teams available as we begin our 9th season in 2020.

The league is called Can of Corn and is a CBS Commissioner League.  $110 Annual League Fee. We include limited keepers as well as minor league development slots. (Details below in League Constitution)

All pay-ins / pay-outs are done through PayPal.

Each team has excellent keeper choices and a full complement of prospects in Minors status.  These teams are likely to compete immediately with even a mediocre draft.

Keeper deadline is March 6, Draft March 21.

Email me at jimchait@gmail.com if interested.  You can be added as owner to look at the teams within the league to help you make your decision.  Ask me any questions you may have.

CONSTITUTION:

The annual fee for League is $110 per team.

Transactional charges made by a team shall be due and payable periodically throughout the season.

DRAFT:
The draft order will be selected randomly for 2012 (our inaugural year), and will be of the snake variety (ie: 1st pick in Rd #1 will have last pick in Rd #2 and all subsequent even numbered rounds). Starting with the 2013 Draft, the order will be determined by prior years' results (ie: worst record will have pick #1, League Champion will have the last pick in each round), and will NOT be of the snake variety (the order of all rounds will be the same).

PLAYOFFS:
Assuming we maintain a 16 team league, there will be 6 playoff teams: Two Division winners, Two Divisional 2nd Place teams, and Two "wild-card" teams. Therefore, each Division is guaranteed to send at least two teams to the Playoffs.
The 6 playoff teams will be seeded as follows:
Division winner with best record = #1 seed and 1st round bye
Other division winner= #2 seed and 1st round bye
Division 2nd Place with best record= #3 seed
Other division 2nd Place = #4 seed
Wild-Card with best record = #5 seed
Other wild-card = #6 seed
Wild-Card teams are next two best records after top 4 seeds, regardless of division.

Tie-breaking protocol will be used to determine seeds if necessary. Ties in the standings are resolved in this order: Winning Percentage, Head to Head Record, Division Record (for intra-divisional tie-breaking only, not for inter-divisional tiebreaking), Total Points.

The first round match-ups will be:
#3 Seed vs. #6 Seed
#4 Seed vs. #5 Seed
#1 & #2 Seed have byes

2nd Round:
#1 Seed vs. winner of #4 v #5
#2 Seed vs. winner of #3 v #6

Final Round:
The winners from 2nd Round will meet in the Championship game, with the losers meeting in the 3rd/4th Place game.

Ties in playoff games will go to the higher seeded team (#1 is higher than #4).

PAYOUTS:
ALL Monies collected will be paid out
$110 x 16 = $1,760, minus $150 CBS Sportsline Fee = a total pot of $1,610 + transaction fees.

Champion: $540, plus 50% of all transaction fees
2nd Place: $250, plus 25% of all transaction fees
3rd Place: $150, plus 15% of all transaction fees
4th Place: $100, plus 10% of all transaction fees
Division Winners: $100 each
Division 2nd Place: $50 each
Wild-Cards: $25 each

Weekly: $10 to the winner of each of the 22 weeks in Regular Season (Most Points each week) = $220.

Final payouts (including any weekly winnings) will be paid out immediately at the conclusion of our season.
All teams will be expected to promptly pay any outstanding transaction fees near seasons end as well as periodically throughout the year to assure this.

KEEPERS:
Each team will be allowed to "keep" up to 6 players going into the 2014, and each subsequent season. HOWEVER, a team can “keep” no more than 3 Hitters and 3 Pitchers. For example, a team selecting to “keep” the maximum 6 keepers will NOT be allowed to keep 4 hitters and 2 pitchers; or 2 hitters and 4 pitchers. A team may elect to keep any number of players LESS than the maximum. To keep a player, you will use your draft pick from the round BEFORE that player was selected in the preceding draft. (Example: You draft Joe Speed in Rd #7 in 2012…You select him as one of your keepers before the 2013 draft…Your Rd #6 pick in 2013 is then used to select Joe Speed. If you happen to elect to keep Joe Speed after the 2013 season, then you will use your Rd #5 pick for him in 2014, etc.) If a selected keeper of yours was undrafted that year (attained from the waiver wire or a minors pre-Sep 1 callup), you will use your Rd #13 pick (Rd #12 for a second non-drafted player, etc.) in the subsequent year. NO 1ST ROUND SELECTIONS may be “kept” the following year. All players maintain their draft position for keeper purposes; ie: A player was drafted by Team A in Rd #7, that player is subsequently dropped or traded during the season and Team B has him on their end of season roster. If Team B elects that player as a keeper for the following year, the Rd #7 draft pick still applies and a Rd #6 pick will be used to keep him. A player that was undrafted, but ends up on your year-end roster having been called up before September 1 from one of your Minors slots will also use a Rd #13 pick to be “kept” the following season. Any player on your roster with a minor league status and in one of your 10 minors slots on August 31, can be kept in addition to the maximum 6 active players that can be kept. If one of those players breaks camp the following year on the major league roster, you will at that point before week one make any roster changes necessary to maintain a legal roster. Note: Once keepers are "processed", they are final and their position in the upcoming draft is set. The only exception will be if, between keepers being processed and the draft, a player that has been kept suffers a catastrophic injury ("done for the season"), the owner can choose to remove that player as one of their keepers, thereby opening up the draft slot used and releasing the player into the available draft pool. A replacement keeper will not be allowed.

MINORS:
Each team can have up to 10 MINORS players on their roster. Keep in mind, you MAY draft a minors player during the regular 25 round draft – DRAFTED player keeper rules will apply for that player. If a player is called up, once he loses his CBS “Minors” designation, your roster will become illegal until you drop a player. All players on your roster still in MINORS status and in one of your 10 available MINORS slots on August 31 will be able to remain in your control (be kept) the next year; such players do not count towards the maximum of 6 active players that can be kept as outlined in the KEEPERS section. The commissioner will save a copy of all rosters on August 31.

Beginning AFTER the 2020 season, players will also be eligible for "free" keeping of players on your end of year roster that meet the MLB Rookie requirements: "To qualify as a rookie in Major League Baseball, a player must not have exceeded 130 at bats or fifty innings pitched in the majors, and also fewer than 45 days on the active rosters of major league clubs (excluding time on the disabled list or any time after rosters are expanded on September 1) in their previous seasons."

ROSTER EXPANSION:
On September 1 of each year, rosters will expand to allow 15 reserve spots (up from 10) for the remainder of the season. The reason for this is that since we have a full complement of minors slots available, it would be unfair to force teams to drop multiple players from their roster when MLB rosters expand and many minors players are given September call ups, especially if that team is involved in a playoff race. Consequently, from Sept 1 through the end of the season when rosters lock for the off season, the limits will be: Active:15, Bench:15,Minors:10, +any players on the DL. It will be from this final 40 man roster that teams will select their keepers for the following season based on status at season's end and of MINORS status as of August 31 (keeper procedures set forth above).

TRADES:
League trades will go to a 2-day "objection" period. If more than 6 objections are raised, the trade will go to the Commissioners desk for approval. The Commissioners stance on trades is simple: There is no reason two teams in good standing should not be able to make any trade they wish. However, any trade attempts that are obviously corrupt will not be allowed. The commissioner may request position statements on borderline deals from both the trading teams and objecting teams in order to make a fair decision on trades that are sent to his desk via objections. When a trade is consummated, the traded players officially become the property of the new owners pending the objection voting period. This means that if a player involved in the trade becomes injured during the voting process, this will have no bearing on the trade going through. If the trade gets enough objections to reach the commissioners desk, it will be judged on its merits at the time of the trade, with no credence given to an after the fact injury or suspension (unless unfair trading practices were used to trick an unwitting trading partner).

DRAFT PICK TRADES:
Draft pick trades between teams are allowed for the current years draft ONLY. No trades involving "future" years draft picks are allowed.

COMPETITIVE INTEGRITY:
As discussed elsewhere in the rules, illegal lineups will result in zero "0" points for that week. Attempts to "tank" any week for the purposes of 1) Attaining a higher draft pick the following year 2) "helping" any other team, especially during a playoff race, will not be tolerated. Each owner is responsible for fielding the most competitive team their roster allows each and every week. Violators will be disciplined with any means at the Commissioners disposal, including, but not limited to: fines, public shaming, draft pick loss, point(s) penalty, criminal prosecution, and expulsion from the League. The goal here is to provide an honest, enjoyable, fair to all, competitive league that we can all enjoy.

MISCELLANEOUS:
Team rosters may show as illegal until CBS properly assigns “MINORS” status to all such players before the season starts.

When placing a player on “IR”, you may add a player eligible at the same position at no cost. To do so, use the “add/drop” transaction and when you “add” the replacement, change the “drop” selection to “move to injured”. The commissioner will remove such charges periodically.

Weekly matchup ties will go to the HOME team.

JUNE DRAFT of AMATEUR PLAYERS:

As drafted amateurs are signed to pro contracts, they become available as MINORS players. Go to My Team/Alerts and Settings/Alerts, you can set an alert to send you an email when there are “new player additions”. You will receive this alert a day before the players become available on waivers. This will allow any team that wishes to add these new signees (CBS can not add them until they have signed a professional contract) the ample ability to do so. The waiver order in which adds will be granted will be based on our regular waivers order, which provides an unbiased, and somewhat arbitrary methodology that resembles a draft order. As new signees are added throughout the summer months, there will be a stream of such payers available throughout the remainder of the season.
