Drafting the Greatest Fantasy Football Team of All Time

My brother and I recently decided to have a two team draft of the greatest fantasy players of all time. We took into consideration their value in standard and PPR leagues, as well as redraft, keeper, and dynasty leagues.  The draft format, picks, and justification for picks are listed below. 

 

8 players on each team (QB, RB 1, RB 2, WR 1, WR 2, TE, Flex 1, Flex 2)

Team Kevin Pick 1: Jerry Rice WR 1985-2004

Greatest fantasy football receiving season of all time in 1995 

Great fantasy football single game performance in 1995

First in career ppr fantasy points of any position

7 finishes as the number 1 wide receiver  (1986, 1987, 1989, 1990, 1993, 1994, 1995)

Most career regular season games played by a position player: 303

Most career receiving yards: 22,895

Most career receptions: 1,549

Most career touchdown receptions: 197

Most seasons of 1,000 or more receiving yards: 14

 

Team Haley Pick 2: LaDainian Tomlinson 2001-2011

Back to back WR 1 seasons in 2011-2012

2011 was the 4th greatest wr season of all time (standard scoring) 

Had 1964 receiving yards in 2012 for a new record but only 5 touchdowns 

12.42 fantasy points per game through his career that is first all time

 

Team Kevin Pick 15: Drew Brees 2001-2019

  • Led the league in passing yards seven times

  • Led the league in touchdowns 4 times

  • Most career passing yards 

  • Most consecutive games with a touchdown pass 

  • 4th greatest single season fantasy performance in 2011

  • Top 3 fantasy QB 4 times

 

Team Haley Pick 16: Shaun Alexander 2000-2008

5 seasons in a row with 16 or more touchdowns 2001-2005

27 rushing touchdowns in 2005 (NFL record a the time)

Two RB 1 seasons
