Last Keeper: McNeil or Mancini?

Recommended Posts

It's a 10-team 5x5 roto league...keep 10 players

I have 9 players pretty much locked in:

1B:  Josh Bell

2B: Gleyber Torres

3B:  Nolan Arenado

SS:  Francisco Lindor

OF:  Victor Robles

UTIL: Adelberto Mondesi  (ss)

SP:  Jack Flaherty

SP:   Blake Snell

SP:  Jose Berrios

I am considering 2 players for the final slot:

Jeff McNeil (of, 2b, 3b)

Trea Mancini (of, 1b)

Who do you think I should keep?  Thanks in advance for the advice!

(cue Rush advising me to keep both hitters, drop odorrizi from the list and then trade the other two pitchers)

Mancini. Dude's a beast. McNeil will not put up close to the counting stats that Trey will give you.

If you check their career 162 line, found at bb reference,

Jeff scores more runs, while just 6 rbis behind.

144 career ops+ to 119

Zips projects 175 R+RBIs for Mancini and 148 for McNeil

Steamer projects 176 R+RBIs for Mancini and 157 for McNeil

I like Mancini around pick 90 and McNeil around pick 110.

Fair enough

Steamer has jeff a .15 edge in BA, and 8 more SB.

I put more faith in what a player controls, then team dependent stats.

Ill take Jeff McNeil all day every day.  Better hit tool and better team.  Plus eligible at more positions.

Toss you're last 3 back, keep McNeil & Mancini, and then find another offensive players to fill that spot. Then again find one more offensive player for the last spot.
