Will Fuller 2020 Outlook

Recommended Posts

Just drafted him #85. Can't help but feel that I've essentially drafted him for one game, but since my oppo week 1 has Deshaun I might just be OK with that.

Fingers crossed we get a few more games. If he makes it into double figures for games played it could still be a great season.

Keenan Allen was just as injury prone till he wasn't. Hoping he finally plays 13-14 games

Realllllly tempted to play him week 1. Just seems like a shoe in for one long TD in this matchup.

Definitely a high range WR3 in this matchup...plus Cooks might not even play. Fuller may break on his first game, but Deshaun Watson and the Texans projections are pretty freaking high for week one (and still will maybe get blown out according to Vegas.)

If Watson and Texans implied points are high...well...do the math.

#Rule 1 of fantasy fight club:

If Fuller is healthy you must plug him in, especially now with DHop gone.

Well yes. Because it's quite hard to plug him in when he's not healthy, so if you don't play him week 1... why did anyone draft him?

This realization dawned on me just before I opened this thread and I plugged him into my WR2.  Play him until the wheels fall off.  If they don't, he will be a draft day steal.

This is probably the one time when not playing Fuller just seems really silly. Sure, you might get nothing, but you could be looking at 20 pts or more. I mean, if you're stacked, then sure, but most people will have drafted him late enough to be a FLEX or Bench player.

I don’t see how you drafted the guy and you’re not starting in this matchup. He should have a big one.

Week 6 of last year was almost a year ago...these times are a little different year over year. Also, Hopkins wasn't out as he had 12 targets.

Fuller has 90 yards in the playoffs at KC.

My bad, I probably missed him because his line was equally as bad.

To all the "must start" people, no one is starting Fuller over studs like Michael Thomas, Davante, Tyreek, etc., so where do you realistically draw the line?

Here are Justin Boone's early Week 1 WR rankings (half pt ppr), made before Cooks injury news:

  1. 1              Michael Thomas               NO         vs TB
  2. 2              Davante Adams                GB          @ MIN
    1. 3              Tyreek Hill                    KC           vs HOU
  3. 4              Julio Jones                   ATL         vs SEA
  4. 5              Allen Robinson          CHI         @ DET
  5. 6              Chris Godwin              TB           @ NO
  6. 7              Kenny Golladay          DET        vs CHI
  7. 8              Mike Evans                   TB           @ NO
  8. 9              D.J. Moore                    CAR        vs LV
  9. 10           DeAndre Hopkins            ARI         @ SF
  10. 11           JuJu Smith-Schuster       PIT          @ NYG
  11. 12           Adam Thielen             MIN       vs GB
  12. 13           A.J. Brown                    TEN        @ DEN
  13. 14           Robert Woods            LAR        vs DAL
  14. 15           Calvin Ridley                ATL         vs SEA
  15. 16           Keenan Allen               LAC        @ CIN
  16. 17           Terry McLaurin          WAS      vs PHI
  17. 18           Amari Cooper              DAL        @ LAR
  18. 19           D.J. Chark                      JAC         vs IND
  19. 20           DeSean Jackson                PHI         @ WAS
  20. 21           Stefon Diggs                 BUF        vs NYJ
  21. 22           Tyler Lockett                SEA        @ ATL
  22. 23           Will Fuller                     HOU      @ KC
  23. 24           Cooper Kupp                LAR        vs DAL

I don't think I'd start Fuller over any of these top 12.  I'd maybe put Fuller somewhere in the 13 - 16 range, ahead of guys like Woods and Keenan Allen, but after McLaurin (look what McLaurin did to PHI in both meetings last year).

That makes Fuller not even a WR1 this week, so definitely not a "must start."

Thoughts?

Chiefs have some key guys out in the secondary - if you're not gonna start this guy on opening night in a 54.5 O/U game, you might as well trade/drop him.  Thinking he will get off to a hot start and have a solid game tomorrow night.

Oh, you won't start Will Fuller over your WR1?  Very very interesting...

I guess in a league where you start only WR1 this argument can hold up.  I'm not aware of that league though lol.

This.

The only thing that knocked Fuller down draft boards is the fact he'll probably miss half the season with some kind of injury.

Any other #2 wr who put up the numbers he has, and is returning with the alpha wr commanding 30% target share now gone, would be a top 40 pick.

Why did anyone draft him if not to use him as long as he's available?

It’s fuller or woods for me. Feels like a coin flip.
but I can watch Sunday night football and I can’t watch thursdays game so that always sneaks into your decision making.

🙂 Yours was a bit of a weird post though. You're going to have at least 2 WR spots and 1 FLEX, probably more. He's likely to be your WR3. I got him in the 9th round. He doesn't need to be better than your WR1, he needs to beat out your WR3/4, and your RB3/4. For the upside, that should be a no-brainer.

I hear you, but "must start" to me means must start no matter what.  A lot of people (like me) may have two WRs in that 1-12 range and a RB starting in their flex.

I have the same issue in my flex spot. I'm probably going with Woods.

Floor vs ceiling is how you should weigh your decision vs. your opponent's matchups
