Todd Gurley 2020 Outlook

Recommended Posts

Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio reports, "The Rams are currently in discussions regarding a possible trade of RB Todd Gurley."

It remains to be seen how much, if anything, teams are willing to give up to trade for Gurley. The 25-year-old RB has a troubling history of knee injuries and is signed through 2023. Releasing Gurley would leave behind an absurd $25.6 million in dead money, making a trade the only potential pathway for the Rams to part ways with their long-time RB. While Gurley managed to score 14 touchdowns last season, his average of 4.2 yards per touch was the lowest mark since his infamous 2016 Jeff Fisher-induced campaign. There's plenty of potential for a committee to emerge in 2020 if Gurley is ultimately back with the Rams.

I can’t imagine anyone actually tradings or  him unless They get a pick in the deal also. He’s washed. Bucs would be much better off signing Gordon in my opinion. 3/36

I am of the view of don't spend the money on Melvin or Gurley but if you are going to spend because you think  you need  elite level talent in the rb position  for long term success then pay the Browns a 2nd and grab a gently used  plug and play every down rb in Kareem Hunt.  Hunt has an easy 5years left on his body.

Other than that bring in the cheap veteran spare parts of devonta freeman, dion lewis, carlos hyde, lamar miller, etc and see who you can squeeze some mileage out of. The passing attack should make the need for an elite rb less critical. Spend the money on the other parts of your team

Joe Burrow wasn't complaining when he went to Tuscaloosa.

If only we had an example of a declining RB with a terrible deal getting traded recently.

Strange times we're living in.

CE-H would be awesome for the Bucs.

Plus they could totally snag him in the draft.  He won’t cost a first.

and fans get upset when these guys hold out for more upfront money and don't take team friendly deals. when they have the most leverage  😂

Teams will cut you when they don't want the liability anymore

Now this will be Goff's team 100% with Mcvay still making all the pre-snap reads 😂

so who's the #1 now, Malcolm Brown or DHenderson?  Think they bring in someone else to start like Gordon?

First thing you've said in a while that I agree with. I will never understand the harsh criticism of players, claiming they are greedy when they are trying to get everything they can get while playing a violent sport where their employer can pretty much move on from them at any time with little to no penalty. It wasn't that long ago that Gurley was on top of the world.

I was all for Leveon Bell making the stand when he did and I think more players should do it too. But hey, they're the ones that continue to agree to these CBAs...

But a whole host of NFL defenders come from Alabama.

I'm not saying it's the same thing.

What I am saying is that automatically discounting a rookie RB's pass pro skills, when he's already demonstrated them against the highest level of talent possible at his level because other rookie RBs have struggled in pass pro, doesn't seem like a done deal to me.

I could see them keeping the UGA train rolling with Swift...

Kirby's offense bears some similarities to what McVay does.
