George Brett

Great memories of him, including his quest to hit .400.

A few infamous ones. Pine tar, going ballistic, and hemorrhoids. Lol

Eddie Mathews. I had a scrap book with every news clipping I could find of Mathews.

Die Hard Yankee fan and Donnie Baseball is my childhood favorite. Tried to emulate his game growing up.

My favorite non-Yankee player of all time is Vladimir Guerrero. I love how he was a right handed hitter that would swing at anything and everything yet finished with a lifetime 318 avg. Hell I remember seeing him get a hit from a ball the dirt on so many occasions. I love that he didn’t wear batting gloves. I love that he was a prolific base stealer in his prime. And he had an absolute cannon of an arm. Vlad and Jesse Barfield had the most impressive arms in the outfield that I ever saw in person.

"I watched this guy destroy us. Everything you threw up there, he hit hard. It was ridiculous. He hit balls that didn't make sense. And he would hit balls with crazy English and crazy spin. It was like there were chainsaws coming at you." -Doug Glanville on Vladimir Guerrero

Just curious (and a lot of time on my hands.) why do you hate the dodgers? From where I’m sitting, Im jealous of that team.

On a side note, my grandfathers favorite player was Josh Gibson. Would watch him play in Homestead. And my grandfather is the one who got me into baseball.

Great call. I heard he hit 71 HR in a season. Just a stud.

Loved his batting stance, and was on the Rangers when I first started watching baseball. He may still be playing in some obscure league somewhere. Steve Buechele was another favorite. Juan Gonzalez and Nolan were obviously high on the list too.

dont hate the dodgers just dont care about them like i did when i was growing up probably because i didnt have fantasy sports. some other reasons-la games for direct tv owners have been blacked out for years. missed vins final seasons, and they cant buy a championship. as you get get older you appreciate great players and the value/talent/entertainment they bring more than blinded homerism/loyalty to a team i havent watched in years.

probably salty as a LAL and Den fan winning multiple championships during my childhood

The Black Babe Ruth. Reportedly one of two men to ever hit a HR out of Yankee Stadium. Neither ever received credit for the feat. Gibson, because of Negro League stats and Frank Howard, who's flyball over the LF upper deck grandstand ( for those of you old enough to remember the 'old" Yankee Stadium), was called a foul ball. Mantle said it was a fair ball HR from his CF vantage point. Who knows?

Other than Trout, I would go with Nolan Ryan. Absolute beast.

Can't forget Pedro.
