Henry Ruggs III 2020 Outlook

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

1st WR off the board.

Gruden got a speedster.

4.27 40 yard dash. Will definitely keep the safeties back.

Actually increases the value of Carr and Jacobs

And Tyrell Williams ... all pass catchers just got a boost , no pun intended. Great signing for the Raiders. They already have two big RZ targets , now they have the speedster.

Gruden channeling Al Davis on that pick. Just win baby, lets get vertical.

He is not a one-dimensional guy they will just send deep, like a Derrius Heyward Bay from the past.  This guy Ruggs can run the full route tree, catch bubble screens, etc. and take them to the house.

Carr (and probably eventually Mariota) getting him the ball?

Pass.

But could have some value in the future with another QB.

Buying big time.   The immediate favorite for target volume and Carr is one of the most accurate qbs in the league.

best wr landing spots

1- Ruggs

2- Reagor

3-  Jefferson

Yeah but that accuracy usually comes as a result of short passes.

Remember when the wheels fell off for Cooper after that first big year?

Maybe they change up the playbook I guess.

Remember when he had that monster year , Cooper and Crabtree were still there . I'm not crazy about Carr , but I do believe he has some talent . Now that Gurden's at the helm, with all these new playmakers on offense , we might see something.

He’s great - I know it’s the epitome of a Raiders pick, but I approved.

Yep. This is way more than a “run deep and chuck it” speed WR. Ruggs is goooood.

Don't agree on Jefferson at all. Think he went to one of the worst landing spots.

100%
he was my favorite receiver (for the value) before the draft.  now I’m staying clear.

Pass in re-draft but a big buy in dynasty.  Crazy athlete and is more than just a deep threat, as others have alluded to.  Overshadowed by the other WRs on his team at Alabama.  His ADP will probably go up before the draft, and I can't buy in to this offense with Carr and/or Mariota slinging the ball.  Isn't Carr broderline afraid of tossing it deep?

In dynasty however, I focus more on talent than situation, and this kid has boat loads of talent.  Plus if Carr doesn't perform this year, I imagine LV makes a switch in the off-season.  So long-term I like that talent of Ruggs, but for re-draft I can't talk myself into buying a LV WR other than Renfrow as a late round dart throw in PPR.

yeah because when has Cousins ever supported 2 fantasy relevant WRs....

Ruggs will be perfect in Vegas.   He’s not just a deep threat and Carr’s accuracy is elite.   The road is clear and Gruden will be thirstin to feed him the ball.

Yep

I had Ruggs #1 in my rookie WR rankings.

Jeudy is 1.B Jeudy is a better route runner, very technically sound, everything about him is great.

Ruggs is even faster than 4.27 though, speed speed speed. He is crazy fast and when you are looking at potentially a tyreek Hill type threat I just slightly bump him ahead of jeudy because Ruggs is a good route runner himself but defenders can't defend Ruggs the same, his speed makes them play him differently.

I think this guy was a fantastic selection for the Raiders. He is like everyone else has said more than just a speedy deep threat. He is going to so help Derek Carr and the rest of the Raiders receiving corps.

I Agree. They compared his talents to Antonio Brown and wanted something similar to AB. He can run all types of routes and is basically a faster Antonio Brown IMO.
