Move Jacobs up your boards.

Man, I'm having a tough time with Jacobs. I like what he brings to the table (I owned him last year), but his usage was frustrating with how he would get subbed out of games for entire series. I'd like to buy in, but I honestly need to see more to be comfortable drafting him as an RB1. He's on the fringe for me. Do people think that gameflow should be more favorable this year?

Didn't he have a debilitating shoulder injury thus the reason for the subbing out?

He did, and while that was certainly a factor, I think that he was getting subbed pretty regularly even before the injury, which I think occurred in week 7. I guess earlier in the season, though, you could make the argument that they were just easing him into the role as a rookie. Either way, there's a little more uncertainty surrounding his usage than I'd like in my top back.

Josh Jacobs is on roughly all of my teams. He is going to have a fantastic year and as more people pass on him I am going to be right there to hit select. He looked great and is going into his sophomore year. Should be an explosive offense and their line is the Great Wall of Vegas. Man is finnin to eat.

I agree. No brainer pick in second round in all formats.

when you consider Chubb (who I love) has to fight with Hunt for snaps, Ekeler losing Rivers, Jones likely TD regression plus Dillon I definitely prefer Jacobs out of that bunch. More than happy to be in the minority though and seeing Jacobs sit in that 17-20 spot and scoop him up

book sets 1220.5 o/u rushing yds

o -125

u -115

pretty snazzy benchmark - he's slightly favored to top the number.

I love Jacobs this year. I think he has a real shot at 1600 total yards and 10 TDs if he does get an uptick in receiving and I think he will based on what he and Mayock have said.

Jacobs is an elite back if you watch the tape. His one cut move is deadly and he has brute power with quickness.  If the kid gets more passing work it’s going to be scary, he’s the real deal tho. Easily top 10 this Year

I'm also a big Jacobs backer and the only thing that concerns me about him is his shoulder etc injuries.  I drafted him in a couple of leagues and if he stays healthy, he should have a big year.

That's an outstanding video, thanks for posting.  I am now targeting JJ in auction and at pick #17, hopefully he's still there.

The only questions I have about him are regarding his shoulder injury and the Raiders defense.  Where did they rank last year and where are they anticipated this year? I don't want to draft a RB highly/expensively only to find him schemed out of games every week because they can't stop anybody.  Is that an issue with this team/player?

I just drafted him 15th overall in my big money league on yahoo , sanders, drake, Chubb, and Ekeler all went before my pick so I got him.  I’ll say after all those guys are gone the rb talent drops off extensively so I’d grab whoever is left at your pick 17.  Kittle fell to me at pick 25 too so get your rbs 1st two rounds, guys should fall too you at 3rd round for wr or a te

What exactly was his shoulder injury?  Did he do anything in the offseason to have it fixed?

Think it was a separated shoulder if I remember correctly.  Not sure if he need offseason surgery but I don't believe he did.  The only thing that might hold Jacobs back from a top 7 season is Carr's unwillingness to check down to him.  There were so many times last season I was yelling at my tv when Jacobs had nobody around for 10 yds and Carr wouldn't even look.

Or if the 7-9 season turns into a 4-12 season.

His 3 highest snap shares were vs lowly QB's last year in Joe Flacco, Mitch Trubisky and Andy Dalton.

His 3 lowest came in losses 2 of those losses he was useless, I don't want a top 7 RB to be game scripted out of the game if the Raiders are bad.

The Raiders went 6 and 7 in Jacobs games. Jacobs' worst 5 games were in losses, I'm predicting the Chargers to improve, the Broncos to be a wild card so the Raiders may be in position to grab a QB next April like the Chargers did this past year, thus consider the pass catching back or make sure you play standard to consider this man anywhere near RB 7.

I may be wrong but I thought It’s been reported that John gruden wants to use him much more in the passing game this year. Maybe he still uses a specialist in 2 minute drills and stuff like that but I think jacobs receptions will increase at least a little.

Cadillac Williams’s targets almost doubled and he went from 20 to 30 receptions in 14 injury riddled games from years 1 to 2. Jacobs is a better pass catcher and I’d venture to say 30 receptions is his minimum this year.

Many sleeping on Jacobs, but many experts estimating between 40-50 receptions, so yeah this cat could be flirting with top 5 upside all year long .

You are correct, but I've heard Matt Nagy say Jordan Howard is a great pass catcher. I've heard the Bills say they were gonna give Spiller the ball until he pukes, etc... take everything with a grain of salt.

If he is telling the truth, you may profit, but re signing Richard, signing Booker and drafting Bowden has me questioning, or maybe Gruden is just a planning for covid with all these RB pass catchers.
