Then just when you get used to it Bellicheck shifts to Michel... then Harris. I told myself do not do it again. 🙈 lol this could happen.. I’m usually out on patriots RBs as well but if you can get a supposed starter at the last pick of your draft or waiver wire I think it’s worth it. Ya don’t even need to start him just roster him and if he plays good ya package him and a WR2 for a WR1.. if not drop him.

markrc99 583
I don’t know about some of that. Michel had 247 carries last year, any idea where that placed him among NFL ‘backs? He was coming off boards in what round at about this time last year? Perhaps largely because the OL didn’t perform as well he ranked 21st in yards before contact. However, in yards after contact which does tend to say more about the ball carrier, he was 44th. Could be wrong, but I think they want a guy that can bang up inside & get them those tough yards. Pick himself up off the ground & do it again, especially once the weather turns.

CooL 3,248
Quote Patriots RB Sony Michel (foot) dressed for practice for the first time. Michel's Wednesday debut at Patriots practice comes nearly a week after Patriots RB coach Ivan Fears said the running back "will be ready" to suit up for Week 1. Meanwhile, RB Damien Harris has shined in camp during Michel's absence. Fantasy managers might draft Michel as a late-round flier who might fall into early-round carries if Harris stumbles or misses time this year. Lamar Miller's role remains unclear. And this why I sometimes hate the RW blurbs. This writer has already anointed Harris as the #1, and now Sony Michel is the backup/late round flier that might be usable if HARRIS stumbles?! Shouldn't it be the other way around? I want this Harris kid to succeed as much as anybody else in here, because he was indeed that double digit flier who now unfortunately has a rocketing ADP. I don't think there has ever been any indication that Sony Michel lost his job, right? When healthy, Sony is still the guy? Then again, this is the Pats and we all know you can't trust the Hood. I think best advice is as always - AVOID ALL PATS RBS. Easier said than done, and I and I'm sure many of us are living proof every single season.

whoopsie 227
As a Michel owner last year he sucks. If Harris can't beat him out then he must be terrible.
Rotofan24 83
Not to go all conspiracy theory on us, but it's entirely possible that someone in the Pats organization leaked the Harris reports to get Michel back quicker.

The Harris reports are real either way. Harris just looks better at football than Sony does. I think its a real thing that if Sony does suit up week 1 his leash is super short and Harris sooner than later overtakes lead rushing duties.

But he does run well inside the tackles, and has good pass catching abilities. If he is in the game there is no projection. D has to be honest. He also has been here a couple seasons. 🤔

Perhaps privy to things said? Now he’s observing Damien Harris in camp & doesn’t need affirmation from coach Belichick to know what is obvious. Couldn’t that be it? jeremyt7 101
Took one to the house today on the first snap of practice! "Harris broke off a long TD run on the first snap of Thursday's modified scrimmage, Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald reports. Spin: Per Callahan, the second-year back took advantage of a big hole on the left side of the line to engineer Thursday's long run. Meanwhile, Sony Michel -- who came of the PUP list Wednesday -- "looked light on his feet again." Now that Michel is back, he can work toward securing a key role in the Patriots' backfield, which he led last season, but given that Harris has been having a strong training camp, a timeshare between the two could be on tap, with the versatile Rex Burkhead, pass-catching specialist James White -- and eventually Lamar Miller (knee) -- also factoring into the mix. whoopsie 227
This is definitely a high risk high reward pick. He played almost 0 snaps last year. I am a Pats fan and I don't remember him playing at all. That's kind of scary when you see how bad Michel played. Either Harris isn't good or Bill had some master plan where he didn't want to play him no matter what and he's actually amazing.
DerrickHenrysCleats 5,845
Draft with the hopes that he secures a 10+ touch per game role by week 10 due to injuries and/or rising to the top of the pecking order. Early in the season could be bumpy or he could be great from the beginning of the season. I do not hedge my bets.

The G Man 987
NBC Sports Boston's Tom Curran reports Damien Harris took "almost all" of the first-team reps in Thursday's practice. It's notable because Thursday was Sony Michel's second day back at practice. Of course, it is possible the Pats are simply easing Michel back in after he missed nearly all of camp. This remains a situation worth monitoring on a daily basis between now and Week 1. Harris seems to have a leg up, but it is too early to write Michel out of the picture.
