Cordarrelle Patterson 2020 Outlook

Recommended Posts

Does anyone else think that Patterson could be the opening game starter for the Bears with Montgomery hurt if they don't sign or trade for anyone?  Tarik Cohen is their 3rd down/pass-catching specialist but I think that Patterson fits the 1st and 2nd down profile better than anyone else on the roster right now.  He could be a sneaky add in deeper leagues.

I took him in the last round of a 14 team draft that I was blacked out drunk in. When I sobered up I looked into him a little bit. If Montgomery is out I think he could get 8-12 touches but I can't imagine him having any long term value and it doesn't seem like Monty's injury is serious. I dropped him for Ozigbo.

I have a long record of disrespecting Cordarrelle Patterson.  He has annoyed me for years.  Though, I actually have interest in him now.  And he is a sleeper among sleepers.  You hit on Cordarrelle Patterson, and you are essentially a fantasy football god that can spend the rest of your time judging others... Sound okay right?

I can't find info but I have the feeling that Patterson is probably receiving near all 1st team rb reps.  Call me crazy, but even yahoo may soon register him as a wr/rb .  This is rare as yahoo especially sees this as a cheat code.  But Patterson may get it, and even if he doesn't, he will lead all "wrs" in rushing this year...book it.

Patterson will also lead Chi in carries and rushing yards until Monty returns.  And groin issue and all, how long exactly will that be? I predict Patterson for 15+ carries week 1, and you would think some catches as well, being a wr and all.  Cordarrelle Patterson is my dark horse, super-special, maybe-crazy, fantasy-smash of the year.

Because of Covid... It may be our last year alive... Why waste it?  Go Cordarrelle Patterson for most-improved super-stud of the year.

Thank you.

Mike

How plausible is it that he will be the RB1? I am in a deep league and have searched for concrete proof but have not found much. Anyone else have luck finding more info or any locals know more?

The Bears just cut Artavis Pierce so the competition is down to Patterson, Tarik Cohen and Ryan Nall to start game 1 unless they trade for or sign someone else.  Cohen is only 5'6" 180 lbs so I don't think he'll be out there on early downs.

Believe me guys.

Get CP. Make a roster spot for him. CHI will finally use this guy in the way I know he has the potential for. RB1 that is a receiver.

League. Winner.

If Montgomery is only out a week or two, wouldn't Patterson only be valuable for 1 or 2 weeks?  So, maybe just get lucky and start him at WR week 1 if he is labeled the starter?  How would he be a league winner unless he is the starter for the whole year and started at a WR slot?

Why are you getting blacked out drunk at your draft?

So your priority is getting stupid drunk for one night over winning your fantasy league?  Sounds like you've got a drinking problem and might need some help.

A guy who drafted in one of my leagues was so drunk that he took quarterbacks with his first 4 picks in a 14 team league that only starts one.

This coming from a guy who's handle is "next big thing cp84".  Guess you've been waiting a while???

Hopefully you were sober for at least a portion of it.

The fact that they haven't gone out and got a veteran rusher - not even a report that they kicked the tires on Devonta, AP, Lamar, etc. - would suggest that Montgomery could meet the 2-4 week timeline.  So once Montgomery is back and healthy, how much are we really going to get from CP84?

Fantasy football isn't rocket science. Particularly with as many resources that are available today. If you can't draft a good football team with beers in you, you're either terrible at fantasy football or terrible at drinking.

I think that Patterson has the best chance of starting in week 1 for the Bears at this point by default.  Cohen is too small and Ryan Nall doesn't have any experience in NFL games.

I took him as my very last pick on the slim chance he gets some play at starting RB while having WR eligibility in yahoo because I ran out of options I thought would still be there at the end of the draft and couldn't think of anyone else on the fly. I'm not optimistic after I saw the Bears depth chart listed him at WR rather than RB and I thought it was a longshot anyways, but I suppose it could work out. More likely I drafted someone who will be my first cut when I need to pick up someone on waivers. It didn't cost much to see what happens in week 1 though.

I don't think that Patterson will be the starting rb in week 1 now after the Bears listed him as a wr on their official depth chart.  If he was starting, I think they would have listed him as a rb.  They probably just want him to still be a gadget player.

CP84 is the truth. His floor is 3 TD per week (rush/receive/return). His ceiling cannot be calculated. WR1 and RB1 upside.

It looks like Montgomery has an outside chance to start and if he doesn't, Tarik Cohen and Ryan Nall would probably split the work.  Is Patterson drop city at this point?

To the guy questioning whether a person drafted 4 qb's in a row, he drafted Mahomes, Jackson, Russell Wilson and Dak Prescott in the first 4 rounds.  That's how out of it he was.
