James Robinson 2020 Outlook

He had 12 pts in 1/2 ppr. That’s pretty solid. Not great but not bad

I was wondering how that math added up but I realized you're in a "points per rush" league...

I was shocked to see Chris Thompson being in on two separate goal-to-go drives, neither of which were in hurry up mode. Inexcusable that James Robinson was not in on those drives.

This, exactly.

Chris Thompson GLB🤯

He didn't have a good game last week either.

14,7 pts is pretty good. If he gets into the end zone, no one is complaining.

Yeah if the Jags call 1 run play with Jrob at the goal line and he punches in a TD we go from RB2-3 talk to "locked and loaded RB1". People overreact in fantasy all the time. If Jacobs didn't have two last minute TDs the other day you'd have people screeching from the heavens about how terrible he is, sell sell sell, bust, etc...

Hopefully the Jags took notice of this horrid game and make adjustments. The wildcat play was idiotic, and passing at the goal line every single time was just insano. I'm going to mark this off as a one game anomaly in terms of usage, but if it becomes a pattern then it will be worrying. Otherwise, a 10-15 point floor (and this is an absolute floor, no goal line touches and a fumble) with a 30 point ceiling is low end RB1 at worst.

idk if that wildcat play designed or if J Rob just tried to do something nuts to abort it.

I kind of thought he saw the he wasn't going to make it back to the line of scrimmage and was going to try and throw the ball away--instead he dropped it...  I still don't know why they keep putting in Chris Thompson.  I get that he's their pass/hurry up "specialist", but I've seen nothing he does that James Robinson doesn't do better.

Not running at least once against a not terribly competent running defense on first and goal from the four says you're an idiot or you don't trust your running back.  Since I haven't seen anything showing James Robinson's incompetence (except perhaps as a quarterback), I am left with the play caller being an idiot.

I almost wonder if we're so blinded by fantasy football that we're missing something clearly obvious that would explain why Chris Thompson was used as the goal line back and how they are running 3 straight pass plays. If there truly isn't a reason, I don't know how the higher-ups wouldn't be absolutely furious when they're going scoreless with this type of play-calling.

He's a quality back but he's not in the most fantasy friendly situation. He could have easily scored this week. Gruden is just wierd.

Gonna need to factor in here that he has a bonehead full of it coaching staff...this sounds like the fallacy of logical coaching all over again

He's my RB1 until CMC returns, so he isn't going anywhere except for a true RB1.

You probably won't get his worth, and last week's game didn't help his value any.  I'd wait and see how this week goes.

Ozigbo off IR this week ... just hope this staff doesn't try to get cute here with sprinkling him in too much ... but after seeing that facacta wildcat ish last week, i hold out little hope that they are competent enough to hitch to this hoss and ride his azz properly.

If the Jaguars are going to be competitive in games going forward, Jay Gruden is going to have to change his approach to pass-run balance. Because giving Gardner Minshew two, three, or four times as many passes as James Robinson runs doesn’t give this team a better chance to win.

I wish Gruden would heed the above advice from an article...

I'm still happy to have him on my team, and I'm not complaining, but this was supposed to be his big "sell high" window.  That game did not help.  Luckily the Lions can stop no one (diehard homer fan here), so his stock is going to shoot right back up. 📈🔼

I didn't watch the game last week, but the games I have watched this season, Robinson has looked like their best offensive player.  And it hasn't really been close in my eyes.  Based off that, I am not worried.  But again, I did not see last week's game.  Should I be worried?

The fumble was a bit concerned because after that they werent exactly confident in the plays for him. I think you should limit your expectations right now, but he should eat this lions team up, especially if Chark doesnt play this will be a good bounce back game for dump offs in PPR

Good what a dumb play. It seemed whenever they got into the redzone they went away from the run.

Honestly that was terrible play calling.

Robinson looked perfectly fine.  Their play calling not so much...  Houston's defense didn't hold Robinson in check, Gruden did.

Chris Thomson does nothing better than Robinson that I can see.  He should only being seeing time when Robinson needs a rest.  Robinson pass protects and catches well.

They should probably run at least once 1st and goal from the four yard line against a team known to have a suspect run defense and your RB is solid.

You may not always be falling completely behind if you went to a run first offense.  It's not like your QB or receivers are great talents.

You probably should not expect Robinson to be a quarterback.  I'm pretty sure he fumbled trying to maneuver the ball to throw it out of bounds.

I am will admit to being biased, but that doesn't mean that I am wrong.
