Myles Gaskin 2020 Outlook

Wrong. The game script sucked for the entire team. The Jaguars offense was so useless that they went to the most vanilla packages I’ve seen. Gaskin was doing pretty solid efficiency wise before they started to slam him up the middle.

If you say so. Then let's say it was the most positive script he'll see for volume.

It also seems then that the range of positive game scripts is exceedingly small. Not when substantially trailing obviously and not when substantially leading apparently so only when the game is very close.

There's truth to this, but the run blocking was terrible. The majority of Gaskin's yardage was completely created by Gaskin himself.

I remember looking up during the first drive and seeing him with a 7 for 35 rushing line. Not exactly a strong finish after that. Hopefully he can be more efficient with his touches going forward. Obviously the Howard thing is discouraging, but he was only being used strictly at the goal line. Gaskin was still getting work inside the 10. The way he’s used in the passing game he should be in the 18+ touch range every week.

Usage was encouraging but also good that he was used in the red zone and inside the 5

His upside is capped by the line, although he probably had at least 10 runs right up the gut in obvious run situations where he got 1-2 years...that killed his average

This type of running was not really his game. He’s been successful running out of the shotgun and catching passes. He won’t score much but I’ll gladly take a floor of 12-13 PPR points.

Think about it this way:

he’s got a higher floor with negative game scripts as we’ve seen with more room to run and catches and now - with the backfield all his - he’s got a huge ceiling in negative game scripts because he’ll get garbage time, hurry up, and runs with less guys in the box.

I’d go so far as to say in games like this - rare - it’s the worst possible situation because no room to create as well because they run him up the gut into a wall.

BUY like there’s no tomorrow. Value is artificially suppressed due to that low YPC.

Dude's college stats (below) suggest workhorse with 3 down potential. I picked him up in 7 of 9 leagues (other two leagues are shallow but I might add him too). He's now my most-owned player. I spent just under 25% FAAB to snatch him. Could be a league winner depending on depth of your FA pool.

Not one to quote myself usually, and it still kinda depends on your FA/waiver depth, but in deeper leagues, definitely got league-winning potential the way things are trending.

He will be near the top of every waiver wire list next week.

Should already be owned in most reasonably deep leagues, no?

He is just missing the scores. He has the carries and he has the targets. I'm as happy as one person can be that lost Saquon and CMC in the same week.

What are you thinking? This is some of the worst fantasy thinking I’ve ever seen

His longest run on the season is only 15 yards but he looks so close to busting some big plays. As long as the touches continue to be there (which it certainly looks so after tonight) its only a matter of time.... he’s too talented not to get loose even with that porous O-line.

It’s happening... last week’s snap share was 65%. With TD luck last night people are going bananas over this kid. Congrats to those who got him early because he’s the next waiver darling for next week where he isn’t already owned.

Well it's nice to be exceptional. What in particular was wrong? It was the most positive script he'll see for volume. His team was ahead the entire game usually by multiple scores against a bad team. It's exactly the kind of game that favors RBs getting the ball the most often and another game where the Fins are up by 2+ scores most the way might not come again this season. The rest of the post was facetious.

I think they’ll start giving it to Gaskin at the GL eventually. Sure Howard got in once but he looks terrible out there.

How does he look terrible?

He's given a very predictable and difficult job and he comes away with 6 points every game.

I'm a Gaskins owner and I obviously hate it, but they're turning Howard into a short yardage specialist and he's doing well.

Substantially trailing would be very positive for Gaskin as well. He's caught a ton of passes and plays the hurry up role already.

I think the worst case scenario is Fins be up large like what happened last night and that should be pretty rare this season.

At some point though Gaskin has to beat guys at the 2nd level as well. That's the difference between solid and great.

You did quote yourself though.

You pat yourself on the back in front of your mirror too?

Lol, I'm just teasing... Kind of.

biggest takeaway from last night is that Breida is firmly in the rear view ... just another Shanny system darling who disappoints outside the incubator.

GasCan looks very hungry, too ... never underestimate a chipped shoulder.

He’s been better and more consistent than Henry so far this year. Straight facts.

That and that last trip up late in the 4th quarter on the 15 yard run.

I'd have to watch again but that might have been the last man back on defense.
