Agree. either text or emails will keep the ball rolling. Many times I am away from my computer but i can make picks quickly remotely either through emails (blackberry) or text. We cannot switch to a live draft now because some people have already made picks

^I agree but I like Yahoo. If we are gonna keep it here there needs to be a 12 Hour time limit and/or we all need to leave cell phone numbers to text one another for picks.

Sure we can go to a live draft. You just select your pick when it's your turn.

This is my first draft (and probably most of our's) of the season. I think anxious is a better word, especially since it's a keeper.

Cause we did this with football and we went hours upon days with no picks,and it can get a little frustrating, considering we're still in round 1 and we've got people who are not going to be around for days here, days there, and so on

Well why don't we give them so many hours to pick, and if they dont, and didn't leave a list they get the best ranked player.

In order to prevent tanking, we will have a different approach in the order of selection of the 2 Drafts. The 6 playoff teams will automatically occupy draft positions 9-14 with the top seed picking last. This seeding will be fixed whatever the outcome of the Playoffs. So if the 6th seed wins the Championship, he will still get the 9th pick next year.

The draft order for the bottom six (8) however will be unique. There will be consolation rounds for the eliminated teams, and to discourage tanking, the TOP finisher of the consolation rounds will get the 1st overall pick for the upcoming drafts, the Runner-Up in the consolation will get the 2nd overall pick and so on. This will give the eliminated teams something to play for despite being out of the running.

Anyone have any thoughts about the bottom 8? I like this idea in theory, except it may cause the bottom teams to continually get worse without low picks. Tanking is still possible in favor of 1st pick and avoiding playoffs.

This is a typical problem w/ offline drafts - they take awhile.

The season doesn't start for over a month so I think we'll be okay - we have people from different time zones w/ full/different schedules so I don't think this is a fair alternative to make people change their lives around a draft. I am here for pretty much 8 hours a day during the week (i mainly check RW at work) and i will periodically check it every once in a while on the weekends.

If it's holding things up for like 2 or 3 days we can revisit it, but otherwise I'd appreciate it if we could be patient during the draft.

Btw, i'm 28, live right between South Bay and Westside in LA as an accountant for a production company and am LOOKING FOR A NEW JOB (b/c working in entertainment sucks). No wife/kids but i'm very social so naturally my at-home schedule is limited. My sports are MLB/NFL/NBA and college football/basketball. Looking forward to the season!
